What is the best thing that happened to you this school year? It can be part of learning something or something with friends, as long as it happened at school. Think about who was there, when it happened, and why it was so awesome. Use details including proper nouns and adjectives to help your reader picture it in their head.

This morning the principal has decided that recess is a waste of valuable learning time. Instead of recess, there will now be an extra thirty minutes of class. Do you agree with the principal? Why? If you do not agree with the principal, what evidence can you give to prove that recess is important?
Which is better: to be an only child or to have siblings (brothers and sisters). Why? Explain your reasons. Give examples.
Think about the people that we have learned about who live in the rain forests of the world. Think about the animals and plants that call rain forests their homes. Think about all of the products and "gifts" we receive from the rain forest. Is the rain forest worth saving? Why or why not? What, if anything, do you think we should do to save the rain forests of the world?
Think of the best teacher you ever had. Why was that person a good teacher? Convince the reader that this was the best teacher ever. Use evidence to support your claim.
